(House Bill 940)

AN ACT concerning

State Aid for Police — Protection Fund

FOR the purpose of revising the formula for State aid to
the subdivisions for police protection; providing
for an increase in the amount of State aid to
subdivisions with a population density of 8,000 or
more per square mile under certain circumstances;
and relating generally to State aid for police
protection.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 15A — Budget and Fiscal Planning

Section 37(b)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1968 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 37(b) of Article 15A - Budget and
Fiscal Planning, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968
Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

Article 15A — Budget and Fiscal Planning

37.

(b) For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1968, and
thereafter, the State shall pay to each subdivision, each
year in the manner and subject to the limitations and
requirements hereinafter provided, an amount determined
as follows:

(1) Share in Basic Expenditure. If the
aggregate expenditures for police protection in a
subdivision equal or exceed $6.00 per capita, the State
