the new subtitle "Subtitle 4. Environmental

and Estuarine Studies"
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1974 Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 3-401 through 3-403, inclusive,
of Article — Natural Resources, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1974 Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and they
are hereby repealed.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Sections 3—401 through 3—403, inclusive, to be under the
new subtitle "Subtitle 4. Environmental and Estuarine
Studies" be and they are hereby added to Article —
Natural Resources, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1974 Volume and 1974 Supplement) to read as follows:

SUBTITLE 4. ENVIRONMENTAL AND ESTUARINE STUDIES

3-401.

THE CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AND ESTUARINE STUDIES
[[IS CREATED AS A BRANCH OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND
TO]] A BRANCH OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, IS
DESIGNATED TO ENCOMPASS THE FUNCTIONS OF THE NATIONAL
RESOURCES INSTITUTE AND THE ADDITIONS SET FORTH IN THIS
SUBTITLE.

3-402.

THE CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AND ESTUARINE STUDIES
SHALL BE UNDER THE SUPERVISION, DIRECTION, AND CONTROL OF
THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND.
ACADEMIC RANK AND FACULTY STATUS MAY BE ASSIGNED TO THE
DIRECTOR AND QUALIFIED PERSONNEL STAFF MEMBERS.
