SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 98 of Chapter 780 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of 1959, as amended, being also
Section 59-100 of the Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County being Article 17 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1963 Edition and 1967 Supplement,
as amended), being also Section 85—[[95]] 98 of the
Public Local Laws of Montgomery County being Article 16
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1972
Edition and 1973 Supplement, as amended) be and they are
hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

[[Article 17]] Chapter 780
[[59-100. (85-95)]] 98. (59-100, 85-98

(a) No building or other structure shall be
erected or structurally altered in the Regional District
without the issuance of a building permit, and no such
permit shall be given except in conformity with the
provisions of this article and of the regulations enacted
by the respective district councils. [In that portion of
the regional district in Prince George's County,
construction or structural alteration of a building or
structure shall not begin until and unless the building
permit is approved by the Commission as to zoning
