AN ACT concerning

Pharmacy — Information to Public

FOR the purpose of [[placing the responsibility on]]
stating that only pharmacists and pharmacy interns
[[for providing]] may provide to the public certain
information concerning drugs and other medicines.

BY adding to

Article 43 - Health

Section 250(c)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 250(c) be and it is hereby
added to Article 43 — Health, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) to
read as follows:

Article 43 - Health

250.

[[(C) IN A PHARMACY THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR PROVIDING
INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC CONCERNING DRUGS AND MEDICINES
AND THEIR THERAPEUTIC VALUES , POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS.
AND USES IN THE TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF DISEASES
SHALL BE SOLELY THAT OF A PHARMACIST OR A PHARMACY INTERN
ACTING UNDER THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF A PHARMACIST.]]

(C) IN THE PRACTICE OF PHARMACY IN A PHARMACY,
ONLY A PHARMACIST OR A PHARMACY INTERN ACTING UNDER THE
DIRECT SUPERVISION OF A PHARMACIST MAY PROVIDE
INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC CONCERNING DRUGS AND MEDICINES
AND THEIR THERAPEUTIC VALUES, POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS, AND
USES IN THE TREATMENT AND PREVENTION OF DISEASES.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
