LAWS OF MARYLAND

[Ch. 392

Sanitary District Code (1970 Edition, as amended), being
also Section 83—75 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County (1963 Edition and 1967 Supplement,
as amended) and Section 86—3—5 of the Montgomery County
Code (1972 Edition and 1973 Supplement, as amended),
being also Articles 17 and 16, respectively, of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland be and it is hereby
repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

Washington Suburban Sanitary District Code

3-5 (83-75 86-3-5).

(A)    THE COMMISSION MAY NOT GRANT WATER OF SEWER
SERVICE CONNECTIONS, HOOK-UPS, OR AUTHORIZATIONS FOR
SERVICE, OR OTHERWISE EXTEND WATER AND SEWER SERVICE TO
ANY NEW DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY
PORTION OF THE SANITARY DISTRICT UNLESS THE DEVELOPMENT
IS IN CONFORMANCE WITH ADOPTED AND APPROVED PLANS,
PROGRAMS AND POLICIES OF THE [[RESPECTIVE]] COUNTY
GOVERNING [[BODIES]] BODY OR OTHER RULES AND REGULATIONS
THAT THE [[RESPECTIVE GOVERNING BODIES]] BODY may desire
to include in their duly adopted and approved
Comprehensive Water and Sewerage Plans, amendments, or
its revisions.

(B)    The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission
may, in its discretion, at any time it deems it
expedient, discontinue the practice of constructing water
or sewer house connections under the provisions of
section 86—3—4 (3—4; 83—74), and may authorize such
connections to be made by a master plumber, registered in
the Washington Suburban Sanitary District, under the
supervision of the commission; provided, all taps in
installations of the commission shall be actually made by
the commission at such charge as the commission may deem
reasonable; and provided further, the commission may
construct and make water connections of two inches or
larger and make the charge therefor, which charge shall
be at actual cost to the commission, and provided
further, that if said commission, by resolution,
authorized such connections to be made by a master
plumber, the commission shall thereafter, upon the
application of any master plumber, authorize said master
plumber, under proper regulations to be adopted by the
commission and by a written permit, enter upon and cut
into any street under the jurisdiction of any public
authority, except streets, roads, alleys, sidewalks and
other public property under the jurisdiction of
Montgomery County, to the same extent that the commission
can now enter and cut into any such street provided said
master plumber shall have first posted with the
commission an idemnity bond in an amount fixed by and
