AN ACT concerning

Department of Employment and Social Services

FOR the purpose of changing the name of the Department of
Employment and Social Services to the Department of
Human Resources.

BY repealing and re-enacting, with amendments,

Article 41 — Governor — Executive and

Administrative Departments
Section 205

to be under the amended subtitle "The Department of
Human Resources".

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 205 to be under the amended
subtitle "The Department of Human Resources" of Article
41 — Governor — Executive and Administrative Departments,
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES

(a) The Department of [Employment and Social
Services] HUMAN RESOURCES is hereby created as a
principal department of the State government. The head
of the Department of [Employment and Social Services]
HUMAN RESOURCES shall be the Secretary of [Employment and
Social Services] HUMAN RESOURCES, who shall be appointed
by the Governor with the advice and consent of the
Senate.
