[[17.

[Any] A person convicted of violating any of the
provisions of § 15 [shall be] IS subject to a fine of not
lore than $500.00 or to [confinement in or commitment to
any penal or reformatory institution in this State]
IMPRISONMENT for not more than one year, or [to] both
[such] fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the
court[; provided, that the], THE sentence or any part
[thereof] OF IT may be suspended and [provided that] the
defendant may be placed on parole or probation[; provided
further, that no girl or woman who shall be convicted
under this subtitle shall be placed on parole or
probation in the care or charge of any person, except a
woman probation officer designated by law or by the
court]. ] ]

It [shall be] IS unlawful for any person to wear the
insignia, badge, distinctive ribbons or membership
rosette or button of a military or patriotic organization
or of any lodge or fraternal society chartered or having
grand or subordinate lodges in this State, or to use the
same to obtain aid or assistance, personal or social
recognition thereby, from any person, within this State,
unless he [shall be] IS entitled to use or wear the same
under the constitution and bylaws, rules and regulations
of [such] THE military or patriotic organizations [or of
such] lodge, lodges, society or societies[, and anyone].
ANYONE violating the provisions of this section [shall
be] IS guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall
be punished by a fine [[not less than]] [twenty dollars]
[[$20 and]] OF not more than [two hundred dollars.
Provided, that nothing] $200. NOTHING in this section
shall prohibit the wearing of the badge or insignia of
any lodge or society by the [mother, sister, wife or
daughter] PARENT, SIBLING, CHILD, OR SPOUSE of any member
of such lodge or society entitled under this section and
§ 181 of this article to wear such badge or insignia.

Any person who takes, places, harbors, inveighs,
entices, persuades, encourages, either by threats or
promise, or by any device or scheme takes or places, or
causes to be taken or placed, any [female into a house of
ill fame or of assignation or elsewhere,] OTHER PERSON TO
ANY PLACE against HIS OR her will, for the purpose of
prostitution or illegal sexual intercourse, or takes or
detains [a female] ANY OTHER PERSON unlawfully against
HIS OR her will, with the intent to compel HIM OR her by
force, threats, persuasions, menace or duress, to marry
him OR HER, or to marry any other person, or to be
