[widow] SURVIVING SPOUSE, AS LONG AS HE OR SHE REMAINS
UNMARRIED, shall be entitled to receive a pension from
the Maryland State Firemen's Association in a sum[, the
amount of which shall be decided upon] DETERMINED by the
board of trustees of the Maryland State Firemen's
Association, [and] to be paid out of its treasury at such
times and in such installments and in such amount as the
(said] board of trustees of the Maryland State Firemen's
Association may decide, [during widowhood, and each] AS
LONG AS THE SURVIVING SPOUSE REMAINS UNMARRIED. EACH of
the children of the [said] deceased [firemen]
FIREFIGHTERS shall receive a pension from the Maryland
State Firemen's Association in a sum [the amount of which
shall be decided upon] DETERMINED by the board of
trustees of the Maryland State Firemen's Association
[and] to be paid out of its treasury at such times and in
such installments and in such amount as the [said] board
of trustees of the Maryland State Firemen's Association
may decide, until [they] THE CHILDREN each attain the age
[eighteen (18)] OF 18 years.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
17(e) of Article 59 — Mental Hygiene, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume and 1974
Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 59 — Mental Hygiene

17.

(e) [No female] A patient may NOT be transported
to or from any facility unless [she is] accompanied by a
[female] PERSON OF THE SAME SEX authorized by the
facility, or unless accompanied by [her father, husband,
adult brother or adult son] THE PATIENT'S PARENT, SPOUSE,
ADULT SIBLING, OR ADULT OFFSPRING.

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
15(e) of Article 59A — Mental Retardation, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume and
1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 59A — Mental Retardation

15.

(e) [No female] A mentally retarded person may NOT
be transported to or from any State residential facility
unless [she is] accompanied by a [female] PERSON OF THE
SAME SEX authorized by the facility, or unless
