MARYLAND, That Section 252(f) of Article 27 - Crimes and
Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments
252.
(f) The proceeds from the issuance of [such] THE
license shall be deposited in the special fund for
[widows] SURVIVING SPOUSES and other dependents of the
Baltimore County police and fire bureaus, known as the
"Widows' Pension Fund."
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
43 of Article 38A — Fires and Investigations, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and
1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 38A — Fires and Investigations
43.
[In case of the death of any volunteer firemen] IF
ANY VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER DIES as a direct result of
[the] active participation in fighting a fire or while
going to or from a fire, or performing any other duties
necessary to the operation or maintenance of the fire
company or actively participating in the ambulance or
rescue work of an incorporated volunteer fire company in
the State of Maryland, [who] AND IF THE DECEASED
FIREFIGHTER leaves a [widow] SURVIVING SPOUSE, or minor
child or children; or if he [leaves no widow] OR SHE
LEAVES NO SURVIVING SPOUSE or minor child or children,
but leaves a parent or parents, or a sister or brother,
who were dependent upon him OR HER for support, there
shall be paid to [said widow] THE SURVIVING SPOUSE, or to
the guardian of [said] THE minor child or children, or
the surviving parent, or parents or sister or brother [so]
dependent upon him OR HER for support, the sum of [two
thousand dollars ($2000) ] $2,000 from the treasury of the
Maryland State Firemen's Association[; provided further
that if he]. IF THE DECEASED FIREFIGHTER leaves a
[widow] SURVIVING SPOUSE or a dependent child or
children, the case shall be laid before the board of
trustees of the Maryland State Firemen's Association, and
if the facts are established as provided in § 42, the
[widow and child] SURVIVING SPOUSE, OR SURVIVING SPOUSE
AND CHILD, or children as the case may be, shall be
placed on [said] THE "Disabled Firemen's List," and the
