TITLE 5. SPECIAL TYPES OF CORPORATIONS.

SUBTITLE 1. PROFESSIONAL SERVICE CORPORATIONS.

5-101. DEFINITIONS.

(A) IN GENERAL.

IN THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE
MEANINGS INDICATED.

the introductory clause to Art. 23, §431.

The only changes are in style.

(B) LICENSE.

"LICENSE" MEANS ANY LICENSE, CERTIFICATION,
CERTIFICATE, REGISTRATION, OR OTHER LEGAL AUTHORIZATION
REQUIRED BY STATUTE AS A CONDITION PRECEDENT TO THE
PERFORMANCE OF A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE IN THE STATE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language
derived from the present law's usage of "duly
licensed or otherwise legally authorized,"
See, e.g.. Art. 23, §434. "Licensed" is
substituted for the phrase "or otherwise
legally authorized" throughout this subtitle
in light of this definition. Further, the
definition of "license" is intended to apply
when the term "licensed" is used in this
subtitle.

(C)       LICENSING UNIT.

"LICENSING UNIT" MEANS THE BOARD, AGENCY, OR OTHER
ENTITY WHICH LICENSES OR OTHERWISE LEGALLY AUTHORIZES THE
PERFORMANCE OF A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE.

"board, agency, or other entity, licensing or
otherwise legally authorizing the professional
services." See, e.g., Art. 23, §440.

(D)   PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION.

"PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION" MEANS A CORPORATION
WHICH:

(1) IS ORGANISM UNDER THIS SUBTITLE FOR THE
EXCLUSIVE PURPOSE OF PERFORMING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE;
AND
