Merit System

FOR the purpose of providing that the Secretary of
Personnel shall promulgate rules and regulations for
certain State employees and officials regarding sick
leave and personal leave.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 64 A — Merit System

Section 37A

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1972 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 37A of Article 64A - Merit System,
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement
Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 64A — Merit System

37A.

Notwithstanding any other provisions of any law to
the contrary, the Secretary shall promulgate rules and
regulations for all [persons paid by the State,] STATE
EMPLOYEES, CLASSIFIED OR UNCLASSIFIED, AND APPOINTED
OFFICIALS, except employees of the offices of clerks of
the court and registers of wills, whether or not in the
classified service, including but not limited to[, all
appointed officials and employees,] all key employees and
officials, all employees or officials holding totally or
partially federally funded positions, all attorneys in
