(1974 Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 16-109.1(d) be and it is
hereby added to Article 66 1/2 - Vehicle Laws, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume and
1974 Supplement) to read as follows:

Article 66 1/2 — Vehicle Laws

16-109,1.

(D) FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION, AGENCIES OF
STATE GOVERNMENT, WHICH ARE AUTHORIZED BY LAW TO DO SO,
MAY REGULATE THE PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES IN THE SAME
MANNER AS POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS OR MUNICIPALITIES.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Sections
7-301(a) and 7-302 (b), (c), and (d) of Article - Courts
and Judicial Proceedings, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1974 Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and they
are hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

Article — Courts and Judicial Proceedings

7-301.

(a)    The court costs in a traffic case including
parking and impounding cases in which costs are imposed,
are $5.00. In an uncontested parking or impounding case
in which the fines are paid directly to a political
subdivision or municipality, costs are $2.00, which costs
shall be paid to and retained by the political
subdivision or municipality. IN AN UNCONTESTED CASE IN
WHICH THE FINE IS PAID DIRECTLY TO AN AGENCY OF STATE
GOVERNMENT AUTHORIZED BY LAW TO REGULATE PARKING OF MOTOR
VEHICLES, THE COSTS ARE $2.00. THE FINE AND THE COSTS
SHALL BE PAID TO THE AGENCY, WHICH SHALL RECEIVE AND
ACCOUNT FOR THESE FUNDS AS IN ALL OTHER CASES INVOLVING
SUMS DUE THE STATE THROUGH A STATE AGENCY.

7-302.

(b)         If a parking or impounding fine, penalty, or
forfeiture is collected by the District Court pursuant to
a local ordinance, law, or regulation of a political
subdivision or municipality, OR PURSUANT TO A REGULATION
OF AN AGENCY OF STAFF GOVERNMENT AUTHORIZED TO REGULATE
PARKING OF MOTOR VEHICLES, it shall be remitted to the
respective local government[.], OR TO THE STATE AGENCY.
