Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 705 (F) of Article 27 - Crimes and
Punishments, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971
Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments

705.

(F) Notwithstanding any other provisions of the
Annotated Code of Maryland a judge of the Criminal Court
of Baltimore, the circuit court for any county, or any
judge of the District Court, may sentence a convicted
offender to a regional detention center; [provided] IF
the sentence [imposed] TO BE THEN EXECUTED is for a
period of not more than 18 months[;] and [provided
further that] the court imposing the sentence [be] IS
located within a jurisdiction which is a party to the
operation and maintenance of the facility to which the
person is sentenced.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
