MARYLAND, That Sections 4-804(c) and 4-806 of Article -
Natural Resources, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1974 Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and they are hereby
repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
Article — Natural Resources
4-804.
(c) Every applicant shall pay a license fee
of $5 and, in addition to this sum, 25 cents to the
issuing clerk of the court IF APPLICATION IS MADE TO THE
CLERK OF THE COURT. A commercial crabber's license is
valid for the year in which it is issued.
4-806.
(a) A commercial crabber's license may be
obtained from THE DEPARTMENT OR the clerk of the Circuit
Court for the county in which the person resides or from
the clerk of the Court of Common Pleas, if he resides in
Baltimore City.
(b) Every person who applies for a
commercial crabbing license to catch crabs under the
provisions of this subtitle shall complete an application
form showing his full name, social security number, age,
and residence, and shall [make oath or affirmation before
the Court Clerk or a Notary Public in the County] CERTIFY
that the facts set forth in the completed application
form are true, and that he shall submit to the Department
every catch record or other information the Department
requires by rule or regulation.
(c) Upon receipt of the required fee, THE
DEPARTMENT OR the Court Clerk shall give the applicant a
duplicate copy of the application, which serves as a
temporary license for 15 days to catch crabs. After
issuing the temporary license, the Court Clerk shall
forward, within 48 hours, the original copy of the
application to the Department. The Department, by
first—class mail, shall send the license to the
applicant. The Court Clerk shall forward monthly to the
Department the fees received from applicants for deposit
to the credit of the Fisheries Research . and Development
Fund.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1975.
