Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be
and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
Article 10 — Attorneys at taw and Attorneys in Fact

(w) In Wicomico County,
(1) the State's Attorney's salary is [twelve
thousand dollars (]$12,000[)].
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Sections
40(w) (2) and 40(w)(4) of Article 10 - Attorneys at Law
and Attorneys in Fact, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) be and they
are hereby repealed:
Article 10 — Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact

(w) [(2) The State's Attorney's allowance for
office expenses, including stationery, postage, premium
on official bond, and clerical services, is not more than
$7,500, to be paid upon submission of properly certified
vouchers to the Wicomico County Council.]
[(4) Subject to the recommendation of the
resident judge of the Circuit Court of Wicomico County,
the State's Attorney may appoint a member of the bar of
Wicomico County as deputy State's attorney; and subject
to the recommendation of the resident judge of the
Circuit Court of Wicomico County, the State's Attorney
from time to time may appoint members of the bar of
Wicomico County as assistant State's attorneys, to serve
for a particular case or series of cases. The annual
salary of the deputy State's attorney is six thousand
dollars ($6,000); and the Wicomico County Council shall
provide and fix the compensation of such assistant
State's attorneys. Under the direction of the State's
Attorney, the deputy State's attorney and any assistant
State's attorneys shall present cases and perform such
other acts and duties in the operation of the office as
are necessary and proper.]
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Sections 40 (w) (2), (4), (5), (6), and (7) be and they are
hereby added to Article 10 - Attorneys at Law and
Attorneys in Fact, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) to read as
