AN ACT concerning
Public and Private Buildings — Pay Toilets
FOR the purpose of prohibiting the installation of
certain toilets in certain buildings after a certain
date; providing for the removal of a certain type
of toilet device as of a certain date; and providing
a penalty.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 54H be and it is hereby added
to Article 43 - Health, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1974 Supplement) to read as
follows:
Article 43 - Health
54H.
(A) TO ASSURE THE COST FREE OPERATION OF [[ALL]]
TOILETS IN ANY PUBLIC OR PRIVATE BUILDING REQUIRED BY
STATE, COUNTY, OR MUNICIPAL LAW OR REGULATION TO HAVE
PUBLIC TOILETS. AND TO END ANY DISCRIMINATORY EFFECT
BASED UPON SEX, IN THE MANNER AND PURPOSE OF USE OF A
COIN OPERATED PAY TOILET IN ANY PUBLIC OR PRIVATE
BUILDING REQUIRED BY STATE. COUNTY, OR MUNICIPAL LAW OR
REGULATION TO HAVE PUBLIC TOILETS, AFTER DECEMBER 31,
1975, [[A COIN OPERATED PAY TOILET PAY NOT BE INSTALLED
IN ANY PUBLIC OR PRIVATE BUILDING, AND ANY COIN OPERATED
PAY TOILET DEVICE FOR THE USE OF ANY TOILET IN OPERATION
PRIOR TO JANUARY 1, 1976, SHALL BE REMOVED BY SEPTEMBER
