AN ACT concerning
Real Estate Brokers
FOR the purpose of altering the time period required for
a member of the immediate family of a deceased real
estate broker to have been a real estate salesman in
order to qualify for certain exemptions in the
licensing requirements for real estate brokers.
BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 217(c)(1) of Article 56 -
Licenses, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1972
Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

217.
(c) (1) The Commission shall have the power to
require all applicants for a license under this subtitle
to act as real estate broker or as a real estate
salesman, including members of copartnerships and
associations and officers of corporations, to present
reasonable proof of graduation from a recognized
elementary school, or that they have, in the judgment of
the Commission, acquired comparable educational
qualifications through other sources and in either event
that they are trustworthy and qualified to perform the
functions authorized by the license applied for and, when
the application is for a license as a real estate broker,
including evidence that they have had no less than three
years, practical experience in selling real estate as a
