AN ACT concerning

Howard County - State's Attorney's Salary

FOR the purpose of altering the salary of the State's

Attorney for Howard County, and providing that the

salary increase for which provision is made by this
Act does not affect the incumbent.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

Article 10 - Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact

Section 40 (n) (1)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1968 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 40 (n) (1) of Article 10 - Attorneys
at Law and Attorneys in Fact, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be
and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

Article 10 — Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact
40.

(n)(1) The State's Attorney's salary is
[$16,000.00] $20,000.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of this Act shall not be construed to extend
or apply to the salary of the State's Attorney in office
on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of
this Act concerning the salary of the State's Attorney
shall take effect at the beginning of the next following
term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.
