Charles County — State's Attorney
FOR the purpose of changing the salary of the State's
Attorney and the deputy State's Attorney for Charles
County [[and]]; requiring those officials to serve
on a full-time basis[[,]] authorizing the State's
Attorney__to appoint a certain number of part-time
assistant State's attorneys; providing for the
salary of these assistant State's attorneys;
providing for the appointment and compensation of a
special investigator for Charles County; and
increasing the salary of law clerks in that county.
BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 40(i) of Article 10 - Attorneys at
Law and Attorneys in Fact, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be
and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
Article 10 - Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact
40.
(i) In Charles County, the State's Attorney's
salary is [twelve thousand dollars ($12,0.00) per annum.]
$20,000 A YEAR; AND HE SHALL SERVE FULL TIME. He shall
appoint a deputy State's attorney MHO SHALL SERVE FULL
TIME AND whose salary shall be at such compensation, not
exceeding [fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) per annum,]
$17,000 A YEAR, as the State's Attorney may deem proper,
to be paid by the County Commissioners. In addition to
the deputy State's attorney, the State's Attorney may
appoint [[one]] PART-TIME assistant State's [[attorney
whose salary]] ATTORNEYS IN THE NUMBER APPROVED BY THE
SENIOR RESIDENT CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE. THE SALARIES OF
THESE ATTORNEYS shall be fixed by the State's Attorney[[,
