AN ACT concerning

Charles County — Fire Tax Proceeds

FOR the purpose of changing the dates when the proceeds
from the Charles County fire tax are paid to the
Charles County fire departments and clarifying the
language.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 123(c) of the Public Local Laws of
Charles County being Article 9 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1969 Edition and 1972 Supplement)
be and it is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

Article 9
123.

(c) The proceeds collected from [said] THE County
fire tax shall thereafter be paid by the County
Commissioners [semi—annually June 30 and December 31 of
each year, commencing December 31, 1965,] ON SEPTEMBER 30
AND JUNE 30 OF EACH YEAR, BEGINNING ON SEPTEMBER 30,
1974, to all the fire departments in Charles County. The
proceeds shall be distributed as directed by the Board of
Fire and Rescue Commissioners, which is hereby created
and which shall be composed of six members, one of whom
shall be a County Commissioner of Charles County, one of
whom shall be appointed by the Charles County Volunteer
Firemen's Association, one of whom shall be appointed by
