AN ACT to repeal and re—enact with amendments,
Section 103 of Article 23 of the Code of Public local
Laws of Wicomico County (1965 Edition, being Article 23
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland) title "Fire
Companies" and such other local laws pertaining to the
subject matter of this Chapter as may have been
heretofore enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
authorizing an annual appropriation not to exceed Six
Thousand Dollars ($6,000.00) for the several Volunteer
Fire Companies in the said County and authorizing an
annual appropriation of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00)
for the several ambulance companies in the said County
and authorizing an annual appropriation to the City of
Salisbury for the support of its fire companies.

Section 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
WICOMICO COUNTY, MARYLAND, that Section 103 of Article 23
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico County (1965
Edition, being Article 23 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland) title "Fire Companies" and such other
local laws pertaining to the subject matter of this
Chapter as may have been heretofore enacted by the
General Assembly of Maryland, be and they are hereby
repealed and re—enacted with amendments, said re—enacted
Section to be known as Section 103 and to read as
follows:

103. Appropriations; conditions

The County Council of Wicomico county is hereby
authorized to appropriate and levy annually a sum not to
exceed [Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00)] SIX THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($6,000.00) to each of the several volunteer fire
companies in said County, and to be used for the general
maintenance of said volunteer fire companies in said
County, including the purchase and repairing of fire
apparatus and all other equipment of every kind and
character provided, however, that no payments shall be
made to any company or department which has any
resolution or regulations limiting the territory within
which it will respond to calls. THE COUNTY COUNCIL IS
HEREBY FURTHER AUTHORIZED TO APPROPRIATE AND LEVY
ANNUALLY A SUM NOT TO EXCEED ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS
($1,000.00) TO EACH OF THE SEVERAL AMBULANCE COMPANIES IN
SAID COUNTY, PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT NO PAYMENT SHALL BE
MADE TO ANY AMBULANCE COMPANY WHICH HAS ANY RESOLUTION OR
REGULATIONS LIMITING THE TERRITORY WITHIN WHICH IT WILL
RESPOND TO CALLS. Each volunteer fire company AND
AMBULANCE COMPANY receiving any of the above funds shall
submit an annual report to said County Council, giving a
detailed statement of the expenditures of said fund or
funds, and no payment shall be made to any volunteer fire
company OR AMBULANCE COMPANY until it shall have
submitted such report showing the expenditures of said
