MONTGOMERY COUNTY

County Code 1965, is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

23—5. Same — License fee; license year.

For each license required by the preceding section,
each person shall pay the sum of fifty dollars per annum,
in advance, for each vehicle used on the streets or
highways of the county. The license year shall begin on
June 1 and end on May 31 in each and every year.

Sec. 2. This Act shall take effect on the 76th day
following the date on which it becomes law.

Chapter 11

AN ACT to amend Chapter 113, title "Elm disease," of the
Montgomery County Code 1965, by repealing and
re—enacting, with amendments, Section 113—9, title
"Cost of removal and burning," to delete an obsolete
reference to the County Manager and to provide for
Chief Administrative Officer's responsibility in
removal and burning of diseased trees.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL FOR MONTGOMERY
COUNTY, MARYLAND, that -

Sec. 1. Section 113-9, Chapter 113, title "Elm
disease," of the Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby
repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

113—9. Cost of removal and burning.

Whenever it is necessary for the county to provide
for the removal and burning of any tree under the
procedures prescribed in this chapter, the Chief
Administrative Officer shall file with the director of
the department of finance a certified statement of the
cost thereof together with proof of service of the order
or notice above described. The cost of such removal and
burning together with the cost of publication, if any,
shall thereupon become a charge and lien against the land
described in the order or notice and may be collected in
the same manner and subject to the same penalties as
ordinary taxes.
