HOWARD COUNTY

DEPARTMENT; NOR TO THE FIRING OR DISCHARGING OF ANY SUCH
FIREARMS, IF THE SAME IS REASONABLY NECESSARY FOR THE
DEFENSE OF LIFE OR PROPERTY; NOR TO THE DISCHARGING OR
FIRING OF ANY FIREARMS ON ANY MILITARY OR OFFICIAL POLICE
OCCASION WHEN THE SAME IS DONE UNDER THE ORDERS OF AN
OFFICER IN COMMAND THEREOF; NOR PROHIBIT THE DISCHARGING
OF A SHOTGUN BY A LICENSED HUNTER, LAWFULLY HUNTING IN
SEASON ON HIS OWNED OR LEASED PROPERTY, OR IF ON THE
PROPERTY OF ANOTHER WITH THE PERMISSION OF THE PROPERTY
OWNER OR PERSON IN LAWFUL POSSESSION.

(D)    ANY PERSON VIOLATING ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF
THIS SECTION SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND,
UPON CONVICTION THEREOF, SHALL BE SUBJECT TO A FINE OF
NOT LESS THAN TWENTY-FIVE ($25.00 DOLLARS NOR MORE THAN
FIVE HUNDRED ($500.00) DOLLARS, OR BE CONFINED IN JAIL
FOR A PERIOD OF NOT MORE THAN THIRTY (30) DAYS.

(E)    IF ANY CLAUSE, SENTENCE, PART OR PARTS OF THIS
SECTION SHALL BE HELD UNCONSTITUTIONAL OR INVALID, SUCH
UNCONSTITUTIONALLY OR INVALIDITY SHALL NOT EFFECT THE
VALIDITY OF THE REMAINING PARTS OF THIS SECTION. THE
COUNTY COUNCIL HEREBY DECLARES THAT IT WOULD HAVE PASSED
THE REMAINING PARTS OF THIS SECTION IF IT HAD KNOWN SUCH
CLAUSE, SENTENCE, PART OR PARTS THEREOF WOULD BE DECLARED
INVALID OR UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY
COUNCIL OF HOWARD COUNTY, MARYLAND, that the Act shall
take effect, sixty (60) days after its enactment.

This Bill, having been approved by the Executive and
returned to the Council, stands enacted on October 2,
1973.

Council Bill No.. 42

AN ACT to repeal and re—enact with amendments
Section 14.707 (q) of the CATV Franchise Act, to protect
the security of individuals served by a CATV Franchise.

Section 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
HOWARD COUNTY, MARYLAND, that as the public hearings on
the CATV Franchise award created an awareness of CATV
capability to violate subscriber security. Section 14.707
(q) be and the same is hereby repealed and re—enacted
with amendment, to read as follows:
