COUNTY LOCAL LAWS

Ordinance shall take effect forty-five (45) days from the
date it becomes law.

BALTIMORE COUNTY

Bill No. 12-73

AN ACT to revise the Baltimore County towing ordinance to
effect certain administrative changes and to require
licensed towing operators to obtain public liability
insurance instead of posting bond, by repealing
Sections 17—54 through 17—67 of the Baltimore County
Code, 1968 (1971 Cumulative Supplement), title
"Motor Vehicles and Traffic", Article V. Towing of
Vehicles, and enacting new Sections 17—54 through
17-68 in lieu thereof.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MARYLAND, That Sections 17-54 through
17-67 of the Baltimore County Code, 1968 (1971 Cumulative
Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles and Traffic", Article
V. Towing of Vehicles, be and they are hereby repealed.

SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER ENACTED BY THE COUNTY
COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE COUNTY, MARYLAND, That new Sections
17—54 through 17-68 are hereby enacted and added to the
Baltimore County Code, 1968, under said title and article
aforesaid, all to read as follows:

Article V. Towing of Vehicles
Sec. 17—54. Definitions.

For the purposes of this subtitle the following
words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively
ascribed to them by this section:

Disabled vehicle. A motor vehicle which has been
damaged or rendered inoperative as the result of a
collison or accident and not as a result of wear and tear
or mechanical failure.

License. A license to engage in towing disabled
vehicles from the streets of the county, issued pursuant
to this subtitle.
