disability or date of death during the last ten (10)
years before such date; provided, however, that with
respect to a participant who is retired in accordance
with section 14-302(d) prior to July 1, 1970, the term
"final earnings" means the average rate of earnings on
the anniversary dates of the participants date of
retirement which occur during the period from July 1,
1966 to July 1, 1970.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Ordinance shall take effect forty—five (45) days from the
date it becomes law, provided that the provisions thereof
shall be applied retroactively to July 1, 1966.

AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to repeal Section 1-215 of the
Anne Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and
Supplements) , Title 1, "Administration", Subtitle 2,
"Personnel", Article II, "Classified Service", and
to enact new Section 1—215 in lieu thereof, to stand
in the place of the section repealed, to establish
class titles and salary grades for all union and
non-union Classified County Employees, and matters
generally related thereto.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND, That Section 1-215 of the
Anne Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements),
Title 1, "Administration", Subtitle 2, "Personnel",
Article II, "Classified Service", be and it is hereby
repealed, and that new Section 1—215 be, and it is hereby
enacted in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the
section repealed, and to read as follows:
Section 1-215. CLASS TITLES AND SALARY GRADES.
(A) UNLESS OTHERWISE APPLICABLE BY THE REMAINING
SUBSECTIONS OF THIS SECTION, THE BELOW LISTED CLASS
TITLES AND SALARY GRADES SHALL APPLY TO ALL CLASSIFIED
EMPLOYEES:
CLASS TITLE SALARY GRADE

ACCOUNTANT, PRINCIPAL 22
