MORNINGSIDE

ENACTED that this resolution shall become effective fifty
(50) days from the date of enactment on the 8th day of
March, 1973 and that a copy of this ordinance be
published in at least one newspaper of general
circulation within the Town not less than four (4) times
at weekly intervals within the period at least forty (40)
days after the adoption of this resolution, subject to
petition for referendum as provided by law.

NEW CARROLLTON
(Prince George's County)

An Ordinance and Resolution to enlarge and
extend by annexation the limits of the City of
New Carrollton, a municipal corporation, by
including therein a part of Prince George's
County adjacent thereto and to provide for a
public notice thereof specifying a time and
place at which a public hearing will be held
by the City Council of New Carrollton on this
Ordinance and Resolution.

WHEREAS, the City Council of New Carrollton, a
municipal corporation of the State of Maryland, has
determined to enlarge and extend the existing corporate
area of the City of New Carrollton by including therein a
part of Prince George's County which is contiguous and
adjoining to existing corporate boundaries in accordance
with the procedures set forth in Section 19 of Article
23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957, as amended),
said Article being titled "Corporations — Municipal" and
Section 19 being a subheading entitled "Annexation"; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of New Carrollton has
ascertained that there are no persons who reside in the
area to be annexed and who are registered voters in
county elections; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of New Carrollton has
received Statements of Consent signed by the owners of
not less than twenty—five per centum (25%) of the
assessed valuation of the real property located in the
area to be annexed; and

WHEREAS, the Statements of Consent previously
referred to authorize the City Council of New Carrollton
to proceed to enlarge and extend the limits of the City
