MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

2—10 of the Charter so as to effect this Ordinance as an
emergency measure,

IT IS, this 20th day of February, 1973, by Emergency
Ordinance by the powers granted in Sec. 2—10 of the
Charter, passed, and shall be effective, Sec. 4—16
"Division of city into wards; description of wards" shall
be rescinded and amended to read as follows:

(b) Description of Ward No. One

Ward Number One shall embrace all of that part of
the city bounded as follows: Beginning at the
intersection of the centerline of the Northwest Branch of
the Anacostia River with the centerline of Thirty—seventh
Place (when said centerline of Thirty—seventh Place is
extended in a southerly direction); thence running
northerly with such extended centerline and said
centerline of Thirty—seventh Place to the centerline of
Hamilton Street; thence running easterly with the
centerline of Hamilton Street to the centerline of 40th
Avenue following the centerline of Hamilton Street
easterly to 40th Avenue; thence in a southeasterly
direction on an unnamed but platted street adjacent to
Magruder Park to the intersection with Crittenden Street;
thence following the centerline of Crittenden Street in a
southeasterly direction to the centerline of Fortieth
Place; thence following the centerline of Fortieth Place
in a northwesterly direction to the centerline of Emerson
Street; thence easterly following the centerline of
Emerson Street to the centerline of Forty—first Place;
thence southeasterly following the centerline of
Forty—first Place to the centerline of Emerson Street;
thence easterly following the centerline of Emerson
Street to the centerline of Forty—second Avenue; thence
northerly following the centerline of Forty—second Avenue
to the centerline of Farragut Street; thence easterly
following the centerline of Farragut Street to the
centerline of Forty—third Avenue; thence northerly
following the centerline of Forty—third Avenue to the
centerline of Gallatin Street; thence westerly following
the centerline of Gallatin Street to the centerline of
Forty—second Avenue; thence northerly following the
centerline of Forty—second Avenue to the centerline of
Oglethorpe Street; thence easterly following the
centerline of Oglethorpe Street to the centerline of U.S.
Route 1, Baltimore Avenue; thence southerly following the
centerline of Baltimore Avenue, which is also adjacent to
the town boundary of Riverdale, following the Hyattsville
— Riverdale boundary southerly in Baltimore Avenue to the
rear of the lots on the northerly side of Longfellow
Street being the Hyattsville — Riverdale boundary, and
easterly following that boundary to the Hyattsville
boundary line at the Baltimore and Ohio railroad tracks;
