RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
HURLOCK TO AMEND THE TOWN CHARTER

Resolution of The Mayor and Council of Hurlock
adopted pursuant to the authority of Article 11—E of the
Constitution of the State of Maryland and Article 23A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition) , title
"Corporations — Municipal", to amend Section 2 of the
Charter of Hurlock as the same now appears in Chapter 801
of the Laws of Maryland of 1941 and as amended, to
enlarge the corporate boundaries of the town of Hurlock
by the annexation of a parcel of land, contiguous to and
adjoining the existing corporate area, containing,
130.535 acres of land, more or less, and said parcel
having been accurately surveyed, and the consent of not
less than twenty—five per centum (25%) of the persons who
reside in the area to be annexed and who are registered
as voters in county elections and the further consent
from the owners of not less than twenty—five per centum
(25%) of the assessed valuation of the real property
located in the area to be annexed having been obtained;
and to provide for a public hearing, after due notice,
regarding the proposed annexation, and further to provide
that the area proposed to be annexed shall be subject to
all the provisions of the Charter of the Town of Hurlock.

Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL
OF HURLOCK that the parcel of land, hereinafter
described, which is contiguous to and adjoining the
present corporate limits of the Town of Hurlock be
annexed pursuant to the provisions of Article 11—E of the
Constitution of the State of Maryland and Article 23A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title
"Corporations — Municipal", the consent for the proposed
annexation having been obtained from not less than 25% of
the persons who reside in the area to be annexed and who
are registered as voters in county elections, and from
the owners of not less than 25% of the assessed valuation
of the real property located in the area to be annexed.

Said parcel of land proposed to be annexed to said
corporate boundaries has been surveyed precisely by D. C.
Kirby, Jr., Registered Land Surveyor No. 3848 of the
State of Maryland, and the certificate of said surveyor,
September 11, 1973, is more fully described as follows;

Beginning for the same at the intersection of the
southeasterly side of the Railroad Company Right—of—way
leading from Hurlock to East New Market and the
southwesterly side of the Corporate Limits of the Town of
Hurlock, and from said Place of Beginning running by and
with the said Town of Hurlock Corporate Limits the
following three courses and distances: (1) South 39
degrees 29 minutes 07 seconds East 255.31 feet to a
