legal title or beneficial title to real property located
in the City of Hagerstown and who has resided thereon for
the preceding 1 year and makes such real property his or
her permanent home, shall be entitled to have the sum of
$3,000.00, deducted from the assessed valuation of said
property for the purpose of municipal real estate taxes
levied against said property by the Council of
Hagerstown; provided, that if said taxable real estate is
owned as tenants by the entirety, only 1 such exemption
shall be allowed; provided, further, such exemption shall
be allowed only if the combined gross income of said
tenants by the entirety does not exceed $3,000.00 for any
1 year; provided, further, that such exemption shall be
allowed if either 1 or both of said tenants are 65 years
of age or more, or if either 1 or both of said tenants
shall have resided on such property for the preceding 1
year; provided, further, however, that only 1 such
exemption shall be allowed on any real estate taxable
hereunder.
SECTION II: AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED AND ORDAINED
that this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after the date of its passage.

RESOLUTION TO ANNEX
1972
Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Hancock to
enlarge the corporate boundaries of the Municipal
Corporation and annex land contiguous and adjoining the
existing corporate area pursuant to the authority of
Section 19 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition), as amended.
WHEREAS, for convenience of reference, the Mayor and
Council of Hancock, a municipal corporation of the State
of Maryland, has authority in Section 19 of Article 23A
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), as
amended, to enlarge the Corporate boundaries of the
municipal corporation, and
WHEREAS, the area intended to be annexed is
contiguous and adjoining to the existing corporate area
