AN ORDINANCE FOP THE REGULATION,
CONTROL AND REGISTRATION OF
BICYCLES

Preamble

WHEREAS, there is now in effect Chapter 9 as an
Ordinance for the City of Hagerstown controlling riding
of bicycles, etc., and

WHEREAS, said Ordinance has been deemed by the Mayor
and Council for The City of Hagerstown as being
inadequate for the present needs of the City; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have decided to
rescind and repeal the entire Chapter 9 of the Acts and
Ordinances of the City of Hagerstown, and re—enact same
as follows herein.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED BY the
Mayor and Council for The City of Hagerstown that Chapter
9, Sections 9—1 through 9—17 are hereby repealed and
rescinded in their entirety, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ORDAINED AND ENACTED that
the following Ordinance be and it is hereby enacted in
its place and stead:

Chapter 9

Article I
General

Section 9—1 Definition.

Bicycle — Bicycles are defined as any conventional
vehicle of one, two or more wheels propelled by the
rider.

Motor Vehicles — Motor Vehicles for purposes of this
Ordinance shall be defined as minibikes, motor bikes,
motor scooters, go—carts and other mechanically propelled
vehicles of a similar nature.
