registered mail, to the Secretary of the State of
Maryland, and to the Department of Legislative Reference
of Maryland, a complete certified copy of the text of
this Resolution, the date of the Referendum, if any is
held, a certificate showing the number of Councilmen
voting for and against it, and a report on the votes cast
for or against the amendments hereby enacted at any
Referendum thereon, and the effective date of the Charter
Amendment.

The Charter Amendment enacted by the aforegoing
Resolution became effective this 8th day of May, 1973.

ANNEXATION RESOLUTION NO. 9

A Resolution of the Mayor and Councilmen of The City
of Frostburg to enlarge the corporate boundaries of The
City of Frostburg, and thereby amend the Charter of The
City of Frostburg.

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Councilmen of The City of
Frostburg, pursuant to the authority contained in Article
XI—E of the Constitution of the State of Maryland, and
Article 23—A, Section 10, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, (1957 Edition, as amended), deem it in the
public interest to enlarge the corporate boundaries of
The City of Frostburg, and

WHEREAS, the area to be annexed is contiguous and
adjacent to the existing corporate boundaries, and
consent for said annexation has been obtained from the
owner of all the property located in the area to be
annexed, and there being no persons residing in said
area.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
COUNCILMEN OF THE CITY OF FROSTBURG, pursuant to the
above mentioned authority, that the present corporate
boundaries of The City of Frostburg, as described in
Section 169 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany
County (Everstine's 1963 Edition), be enlarged to include
the following area:

line, at a point being at the end of the third line of a
parcel conveyed by the Consolidation Coal Company to the
