Caroline County, Maryland; and, with the Department of
Legislative Reference of Maryland, together with
certified copy of the ordinance repealed hereunder which
constituted the former boundaries of said town.
SECTION 6. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED AND ENACTED that
this ordinance shall be effective from and after the 21st
day of April, 1973.

RESOLUTION 1-73
A RESOLUTION to propose an amendment to Article 6,
Section 59 of the charter of the City of Frederick,
entitled "Same — By Primary Election", by repealing
Section 59 and placing in lieu thereof a new Section 59,
SECTION I: BE IT RESOLVED, ENACTED AND ORDAINED BY
THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF FREDERICK,
that the Charter of the City of Frederick, as the same
was enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland in
Chapter 539 of the laws of 1951, be amended by repealing
Article 6, Section 59 in its entirety and placing in lieu
thereof the following:
Article 6. Registrations;, Nominations and Elections.
Sec. 59. Same — by primary election.
CANDIDATES FOR ELECTIVE PUBLIC OFFICE IN THE
GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF FREDERICK MAY BE NOMINATED BY
DIRECT PRIMARY ELECTION RATHER THAN BY CONVENTION. EACH
POLITICAL PARTY WHICH SHALL HAVE POLLED FIVE PERCENT OF
THE ENTIRE VOTE CAST IN THE CITY OF FREDERICK AT THE NEXT
PRECEDING GENERAL ELECTION MAY PARTICIPATE IN A PRIMARY
ELECTION TO BE HELD, IF REQUESTED BY ANY SUCH POLITICAL
PARTY, IN THE CITY OF FREDERICK AT LEAST TEN DAYS PRIOR
TO THE TIME OF HOLDING THE GENERAL ELECTION IN THE YEAR
1973. BEGINNING WITH THE CALENDAR YEAR 1973, IF
REQUESTED BY ANY SUCH POLITICAL PARTY, THE SAID PRIMARY
ELECTION WILL BE HELD IN THE CITY OF FREDERICK ON THE
