and provided further that a copy of the title of this
Resolution shall be published in the Star Democrat, a
newspaper of general circulation of the Town of Easton,
or in any other newspaper of such general circulation,
once in each of the weeks of October 24, October 31,
November 7 and November 14, 1973.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the
Mayor of Easton is hereby specifically enjoined to carry
out the provisions of Section 2 hereof and, as evidence
of said compliance, the Mayor of Easton shall cause to be
affixed to the minutes of this meeting appropriate
Certificates of publication of the newspaper or
newspapers in which the title of this Resolution shall
have been published and shall declare the Charter
Amendment hereby enacted to be effective by affixing his
signature hereto in the space provided on the effective
date thereof.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that as soon
as the Charter Amendment hereby enacted shall become
effective, either as herein provided or following
referendum, the Mayor of Easton shall send separately by
registered mail, to the Secretary of the State of
Maryland, the Director of the Hall of Records and the
State Department of Legislative Reference, a clear
certified copy of the complete text of this Resolution
and the following information concerning the Charter
Amendment or amendments; the date of the referendum
election, if any, the number of votes cast for and
against the Charter Amendment or amendments, whether in
the legislative body or in a referendum and the effective
date of the Charter Amendment or amendments.
The Charter Amendment enacted by the foregoing
Resolution became effective this fourth day of December,
1973.
