shall strike from the registration list the names of
those persons who have died or become disqualified.
REGISTRATION SHALL BE CLOSED DURING THE THIRTY (30) DAYS
IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE DATE OF ANY MUNICIPAL, STATE,
COUNTY, OR NATIONAL ELECTION. When the registration
books in use shall become worn out, dilapidated or unfit
for further use, the Mayor and Council shall provide
other similar books, and the names of the voters shall be
transcribed therein or new lists made or an entire new
registration had as determined by Ordinance.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That a complete and
exact copy of the aforegoing Resolution be posted at the
Brunswick City Hall for a period of at least forty (40)
days commencing on May 8, 1973; and that a fair summary
of the aforegoing Resolution be published in the
Frederick News—Post at least four (4) times at weekly
intervals during the aforesaid forty (40) day period; and
the aforegoing Resolution shall become a part of the
municipal charter of Brunswick on the fiftieth (50) day
following its adoption unless a petition requesting a
referendum on the matter is submitted to the Mayor and
Council of Brunswick on or before the fortieth (40) day
following the adoption of this Resolution, in compliance
with the provision of Article 23A, Section 13 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and its
Supplements) .

RESOLUTION
A Resolution to repeal and re—enact with amendments
Section 16—14 of Article II of the Charter of Brunswick,
title "Elections", subtitle "Nomination of Candidates"
(The Code of the County of Frederick) to provide that
petitions to nominate candidates for mayor and councilmen
shall be filed with the town clerk thirty (30) days
before the day of election, rather than ten (10) days
before the day of election.
RESOLVED: That Section 16-14. of Article II.
of the Charter of Brunswick, title "Elections", subtitle
"Nomination of Candidates" (Code of the County of
Frederick, Maryland) be repealed and re—enacted with
amendments so as to read as follows:
Nominations of Candidates for Mayor and
Councilmen should be made by Petition; provided, that
such Petition shall be signed by twenty (20) voters who
are real estate tax payers for Mayor and ten (10) voters
