If, through agency reorganization, any of the
foregoing positions are changed or deleted, this
Executive Order shall apply to the newly designated
or created position which carries with it the
performance of the principal duties presently vested
in the position listed above.
EXECUTIVE ORDER OF JUNE 11, 1974
CONSOLIDATION OF DATA PROCESSING
WHEREAS, The computer operations and technical support
for the Department of Employment and Social Services
are currently functioning within that Department;
and
WHEREAS, Article 15A, Section 23B of the Annotated Code
of Maryland places primary responsibility in the
Department of Budget and Fiscal Planning, in
consultation with the State Comptroller, for
planning and control of the state automatic data
processing function; and
WHEREAS, The State of Maryland Data Processing Master
Plan asserts that the State will proceed with the
consolidation of data processing resources into
functional areas for the purpose of achieving
optimum utilization of these resources; and
WHEREAS, The aforementioned Plan states that one of the
five functional areas shall be the Health and Social
Services area; and
WHEREAS, In the interest of improved coordination and
governmental efficiency, it is desirable to
consolidate data processing resources;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, MARVIN MANDEL, GOVERNOR OF MARYLAND,
BY VIRTUE OF THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME BY ARTICLE
II, SECTION 24, OF THE CONSTITUTION OF MARYLAND, AND
ARTICLE 41, SECTION 15C OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF
MARYLAND, HEREBY PROMULGATE THE FOLLOWING ORDER,
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:
