3158                                                VETOES

1501.

This bill amends Section 70 of the Public Local Laws
of St. Mary's County for the purpose of modifying certain
procedures relating to meter cut—in certificates required
by that County.

Through inadvertence, however, House Bill 1501 was
drafted without accounting for various changes previously
made in the law by Chapter 875 of the Acts of 1973.
Consequently, if signed, the bill would amend Section 70
of the Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County in a manner
unintended by its sponsors and inconsistent with the
changes made during . the 1973 Regular Session of the
General Assembly. For these reasons, the sponsors of
House Bill 1501 have concurred in the veto of this bill.

Accordingly, I have decided to veto House Bill 1501.

Sincerely,

/s/ Marvin Mandel

Governor
