1 House Joint Resolution concerning

Aberdeen Proving Ground

FOR the purpose of urging the U.S. Department of the Army
and the Secretary of Defense to refrain from
removing any operations from the Aberdeen Proving
Ground.

WHEREAS, Aberdeen Proving Ground is a viable,
thriving and necessary military installation; and

WHEREAS, Aberdeen Proving Ground provides a vital
segment of the economy of Harford County and the State of
Maryland; and

WHEREAS, The loss of any part of this installation
would be extremely detrimental to both the town of
Aberdeen and the whole of Harford County and the State of
Maryland; and

WHEREAS, Those persons employed at Aberdeen Proving
Ground are dedicated, conscientious citizens of Harford
County, the State of Maryland and the United States; and

WHEREAS, The citizens and elected officials of
Harford County most vigorously object to and deplore the
possible loss of any part of Aberdeen Proving Ground;
now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the State of Maryland hereby most strongly urges the U.
S. Department of the Army and the Secretary of Defense to
refrain from removing any operations from this valuable
installation; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the State of
Maryland forward copies of this Resolution to the
following:
