or per pound of the fuel delivered,

(5)    In the case of sale by liquid measure, the
liquid volume of the delivery, together with any meter
readings from which the liquid volume is computed,
expressed in terms of the gallon and its binary or
decimal subdivisions, and

(6)    In the case of sale by weight, the net weight
of the delivery, together with any weighing scale
readings from which the net weight is computed, expressed
in terms of tons or pounds avoirdupois.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Sections
2-309(i), (x), 8-202 (c) , 9-202(c) , 9-302(d), 10-307(b),
(c) , (d), (e), 11—301(a) of Article — Courts and Judicial
Proceedings, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1974
Volume) be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

Article — Courts and Judicial Proceedings
2-309.

(1) (1) The Sheriff of Cecil County shall receive a
salary of $10,500 and free lodging for himself and his
family at the jail or $1,500 per year. The Sheriff shall
appoint nine full—time deputy sheriffs, one as chief
deputy and one as investigator. The salary of the chief
deputy and investigator shall be $6,500 with annual
increments of $400, subject to approval of the Sheriff
with a maximum salary of $8,500. The remaining eight
deputies shall receive salaries of $6,200 each with
annual increments of $400, subject to the approval of the
Sheriff with a maximum annual salary of $8,000. The
Sheriff may hire five clerks or jailers who shall receive
$5,500 each with annual increments of $400, with the
approval of the Sheriff, and with a maximum salary of
$7,500.

(2)    The County Commissioners shall furnish the
Sheriff's office with four automobiles, and shall pay all
necessary operating expenses including but not limited
to, gasoline, oil, insurance, and repairs, and shall
replace these automobiles with new ones at least once
every two years. The Sheriff and deputy sheriffs are
entitled to an expense allowance for travel to be paid
monthly at the rate of [ten] 10 cents per mile actually
traveled, [upon] ON vouchers submitted by the Sheriff to
the County Commissioners of Cecil County, in the form
they specify. The Sheriff shall submit with the vouchers
an affidavit sworn to by him upon personal knowledge
showing for each day of the month just passed the number
