by Chapter 851 of the Acts of 1973) be and it is hereby
repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

Article 18
448.

The Department of Public Works shall:

(1)   Construct and maintain county water mains,
sewers, drains and culverts;

(2)   Construct, maintain and operate county sewage
disposal and treatment plants;

(3)  Collect garbage and other refuse, and operate
and maintain facilities for their disposal in accordance
with policies and ordinances adopted by the county
commissioners;

(4)   Construct, operate, maintain and control county
water supply systems and fire hydrants;

(5)  Administer and enforce the rules and regulations
relating to water and sewer systems and perform such
other duties which were not otherwise fixed by this
chapter or the county commissioners;

(6)  ADMINISTER AND ENFORCE RULES AND REGULATIONS
RELATING TO BUILDING AND PLUMBING CODES;

(7)   ADMINISTER AND ENFORCE RULES AND REGULATIONS
RELATING TO DOGS AND THE DOG WARDEN;

[(6)] (8) Perform such other duties as may be
assigned by the county commissioners not inconsistent
with any other provision of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Queen Anne's County.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.
