SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 8-[[117]] 209 be and it is
hereby added to Article — Real Property, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (As enacted by Chapter 12 (SB200) of the
1974 Regular Session of the General Assembly) to read as
follows:

Article — Real Property
8-[[117]] 209.

[[(A)]] THE OWNER OF ANY RESIDENTIAL RENTAL
PROPERTY SHALL POST A SIGN IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE ON THAT
PROPERTY LISTING THE NAME, ADDRESS, AND TELEPHONE NUMBER
OF THE OWNER OF THE PROPERTY [[AND]] OR MANAGEMENT
ENTITY, IF ANY. THIS INFORMATION MAY BE INCLUDED IN THE
WRITTEN LEASE, IF ANY, OR IN THE RENTAL RECEIPT, IN LIEU
OF POSTING A SIGN.

[[(B) ANY PERSON WHO VIOLATES THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
SECTION IS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND UPON CONVICTION IS
SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT EXCEEDING $50.]]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.
