TRIAL FOR SUCH OFFENSE, THE ADMINISTRATION SHALL REFUSE
REGISTRATION OR TRANSFER OF REGISTRATION OF THE SUBJECT
VEHICLE UNTIL NOTIFIED BY THE POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OR
MUNICIPALITY THAT THE CHARGE HAS BEEN SATISFIED. UPON
NOTICE BY THE DISTRICT COURT THAT A PERSON RECEIVING A
CITATION FOR VIOLATION OF A PARKING OR IMPOUNDING
ORDINANCE, LAW, OR REGULATION HAS ELECTED TO STAND TRIAL
FOR SAID OFFENSE AND HAS FAILED TO APPEAR FOR TRIAL, THE
ADMINISTRATION SHALL REFUSE REGISTRATION OR TRANSFER OF
REGISTRATION, UNTIL NOTIFIED BY THE DISTRICT COURT THAT
THE PERSON RECEIVING THE CITATION HAS APPEASED FOR TRIAL,
OR HAS PLEADED GUILTY AND PAID THE FINE FOR SUCH
VIOLATION. THESE PROCEDURES SHALL BE IN ADDITION TO AND
NOT IN LIEU OF OTHER PENALTIES PROVIDED BY LAW FOR
PERSONS FAILING TO PAY THE FINE FOR PARKING OR IMPOUNDING
OFFENSES OR TO STAND TRIAL FOR SUCH OFFENSES.
C. THE ADMINISTRATION SHALL DEVELOP PROCEDURES
FOR THE NOTIFICATION AND RECISSION OF NOTIFICATION OF
REGISTRATIONS AND TRANSFER OF REGISTRATIONS TO BE USED BY
THE POLITICAL SUBDIVISION, MUNICIPALITY AND DISTRICT
COURT.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
Sections 7—301 and 7—302 be and they are hereby added to
Article — Courts and Judicial Proceedings, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1974 Volume) to read as
follows:

7-301.
(A) THE COURT COSTS IN A TRAFFIC CASE INCLUDING
PARKING AND IMPOUNDING CASES IN WHICH COSTS ARE IMPOSED,
ARE $5.00. IN AN UNCONTESTED PARKING OR IMPOUNDING CASE
IN WHICH THE FINES ARE PAID DIRECTLY TO A POLITICAL
SUBDIVISION OR MUNICIPALITY, COSTS ARE $2.00, WHICH COSTS
SHALL BE PAID TO AND RETAINED BY THE POLITICAL
SUBDIVISION OR MUNICIPALITY.
(B) (1) THE COURT COSTS IN A CRIMINAL CASE IN
WHICH COSTS ARE IMPOSED ARE — $5.00.
(2) THE COSTS SHALL BE IN ADDITION TO ANY COSTS
IMPOSED IN A CRIMINAL CASE UNDER THE CRIMINAL INJURIES
COMPENSATION ACT.
(C) (1) THE FILING FEES AND COSTS IN A CIVIL
CASE ARE THOSE PRESCRIBED BY LAW SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION
BY LAW OR RULE.
(2) THE COURT OF APPEALS MAY PROVIDE BY RULE FOR
