MARYLAND, That new Section 5—305 be and it is hereby
added to Article — Courts and Judicial Proceedings, of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1974 Volume) to read as
follows:

5-305.
A COVENANT, PROMISE, AGREEMENT OR UNDERSTANDING IN,
OR IN CONNECTION WITH OR COLLATERAL TO, A CONTRACT OR
AGREEMENT RELATING TO THE CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION,
REPAIR, OR MAINTENANCE OF A BUILDING, STRUCTURE,
APPURTENANCE OR APPLIANCE, INCLUDING MOVING, DEMOLITION
AND EXCAVATING CONNECTED WITH IT, PURPORTING TO INDEMNIFY
THE PROMISEE AGAINST LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF
BODILY INJURY TO ANY PERSON OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY CAUSED
BY OR RESULTING FROM THE SOLE NEGLIGENCE OF THE PROMISEE
OR INDEMNITEE, HIS AGENTS OF EMPLOYEES, IS AGAINST PUBLIC
POLICY AND IS VOID AND UNENFORCEABLE. THIS SECTION DOES
NOT AFFECT THE VALIDITY OF ANY INSURANCE CONTRACT,
WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION, OR ANY OTHER AGREEMENT ISSUED BY
AN [[ADMITTED]] INSURER.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.

AN ACT concerning
State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners
FOR the purpose of changing the number [[and
composition]] of the State Board of Veterinary
Medical Examiners [[so as to provide public
representation, the new members being appointed by
the Governor on recommendation of the Secretary of
Agriculture; providing a transitional provision
until the new composition is reached;]] and making
certain style changes.
