FOR the purpose of allowing the period for__claiming

prizes in any lottery bonus game to be set at other

than one year and to define bonus games; and

allowing a system of voucher deposits to be
instituted so that cash prizes and commissions may
be paid out from lottery revenues taken in by ticket
agents.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That [[Section]] Sections 16 and 20(a) of
Article 88D — State Lottery, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be
and [[it is]] they are hereby repealed and re—enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

16.

Unclaimed prize money for the prize on a winning
ticket or share shall be retained by the director for the
person entitled thereto for one year after the drawing in
which the prize was won. If no claim is made for the
money within the year, the prize money shall be paid into
the State general fund for appropriation in the annual

State budget as provided in § 20 of this article.

NOTHING IN THIS SECTION SHALL BE CONSTRUED TO PROHIBIT

THE HOLDING OF BONUS GAMES OR DRAWINGS WITH A

PRE-ANNOUNCED PERIOD FOR THE CLAIMING OF PRIZES OF OTHER

THAN ONE YEAR. A BONUS GAME OR DRAWING SHALL BE ANY

GAME, SO DESIGNATED BY THE STATE LOTTERY AGENCY, OTHER
THAN REGULAR WEEKLY OR DAILY LOTTERY DRAWINGS. THIS
SECTION SHALL APPLY TO ALL PRIZES WON ON OR AFTER MAY 24,
1973, EXCEPT AS MAY BE MODIFIED BY THIS ARTICLE.

20.

(a) All moneys received from the sale of lottery
tickets or shares, less the commission of the agent as
authorized by § 17 of this article, and any other
revenues received under this article, shall be accounted
for to the State Comptroller and placed into a special
account known as the State Lottery Fund. A SYSTEM OF
