notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Bill or
Article 78B, for the calendar year 1974 the Racing
Commission may award the additional forty—eight (48) days
of racing provided in Section 7 (b) and the additional
eighteen (18) days of racing provided in Section 15(a) on
or after June 1, 1974.

SECTION [[2]] .3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That
this Act shall take effect [[July]] June 1, 1974.

AN ACT concerning

Agriculture — Livestock and Poultry

FOR the purpose of amending the definition of garbage for
the purposes of the provisions relating to the
feeding of garbage to swine and authorizing the
Secretary of Agriculture to except certain wastes
from that definition; and generally relating to the
feeding of garbage to swine.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 3-404(a) of Article - Agriculture,
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1974 Volume) be and it
is hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

(a) For purposes of this section, "garbage" means
any putrescible animal and fowl waste resulting from the
handling, preparation, cooking, and consumption of foods,
including any animal and fowl carcass, part of it, and
