(2)    [[TO]] CONCILIATE ALL MATTERS COVERED BY THIS
SUBHEADING;

(3)    [[TO]] ISSUE CEASE AND DESIST ORDERS WITH
RESPECT TO CONSUMER PRACTICES DECLARED TO BE UNLAWFUL BY
THE DIVISION;

(4)    [[TO]] SUSPEND OR REVOKE, IN COOPERATION WITH
THE DEPARTMENT OF LICENSING AND REGULATION, THE LICENSE
OF ANY MERCHANT WHO REFUSES TO CEASE AND DESIST FROM
ENGAGING IN UNFAIR[[,]] OR DECEPTIVE [[OR
UNCONSCIONABLE]] TRADE PRACTICE.

(5)    [[TO]] MAKE RULES AND REGULATIONS AS MAY BE
NECESSARY TO INSURE THE ORDERLY OPERATION OF THE
DIVISION, AND TO PROMULGATE RULES AND STANDARDS FURTHER
DEFINING "UNFAIR[[, ]] OR DECEPTIVE [[AND UNCONSCIONABLE]]
TRADE PRACTICES" UNDER THIS SUBHEADING, THESE RULES AND
REGULATIONS, AND STANDARDS SHALL TAKE EFFECT 60 DAYS
AFTER ADOPTION BY THE DIVISION.

(6)    [[TO]] REPORT TO THE APPROPRIATE LAW
ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ANY INFORMATION CONCERNING
VIOLATIONS OF ANY CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW.

(7)    [[TO]] ASSIST, ADVISE AND COOPERATE WITH LOCAL
AND FEDERAL AGENCIES AND OFFICIALS TO PROTECT AND PROMOTE
THE INTERESTS OF THE CONSUMING PUBLIC OF THE STATE;

(8)    [[TO]] ASSIST, DEVELOP AND CONDUCT PROGRAMS OF
CONSUMER EDUCATION AND INFORMATION THROUGH PUBLICATIONS
AND OTHER MATERIALS PREPARED FOR DISTRIBUTION TO THE
CONSUMING PUBLIC;

(9)    [[TO]] UNDERTAKE ACTIVITIES TO ENCOURAGE
BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY TO MAINTAIN HIGH STANDARDS OF
HONESTY, FAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES AND PUBLIC RESPONSIBLITY
IN THE PRODUCTION, PROMOTION AND SALE OF CONSUMER
MERCHANDISE AND SERVICES, AND IN THE EXTENSION OF CREDIT;

(10)   [[TO]] ASSESS, AGAINST ANY VIOLATORS OF THIS
SUBHEADING, COSTS OF INVESTIGATION BY THE DIVISION AND
DAMAGES FLOWING FROM THE IMPROPER, INCOMPLETE OR UNTIMELY
RESTITUTION BY THE VIOLATOR TO THE CONSUMER OF MONEY,
PROPERTY OR OTHER THINGS RECEIVED FROM THE CONSUMER IN
CONNECTION WITH A VIOLATION OF THIS SUBHEADING.

(11)   [[TO]] EXERCISE, AND   PERFORM OTHER FUNCTIONS,
POWERS AND DUTIES AS MAY      BE DEEMED NECESSARY OR
APPROPRIATE TO PROTECT AND      PROMOTE THE WELFARE OF
CONSUMERS.
