1916 LAWS OF MARYLAND [Ch. 561
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
health and safety and having been passed by a yea and nay
vote supported by three—fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

Worcester County — Sunday Sales
FOR the purpose of providing for certain Sunday Sales in
Worcester County, providing that this Act shall be
submitted to the qualified voters of Worcester
County for a referendum on the matter of Sunday
Sales; and relating generally to Sunday Sales in
Worcester county.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 534S be and it is hereby added
to Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and 1973
Supplement) to read as follows:
Article 27 — Crimes and Punishments
534S.
(A) IN WORCESTER COUNTY, THE RETAIL OR WHOLESALE
SALE OF WEARING APPAREL, HARDWARE, NOTIONS, NOVELTIES,
ANTIQUE SHOPS, FLEA MARKETS AND ALL OTHER PROPERLY
LICENSED RETAIL OR WHOLESALE ESTABLISHMENTS, WITH THE
EXCEPTION OF THOSE ITEMS OTHERWISE RESTRICTED BY LAW, ARE
PERMITTED TO OPERATE ON SUNDAY.
