(S) THE WORD "WIG STYLIST" IS DEFINED AS ANY
PERSON NOT LICENSED AS A BARBER WHO ENGAGES IN THE
PRACTICE OF STYLING, CUTTING, FITTING, COBBING, SETTING
AND ANY OTHER TREATMENT OF WIGS, WIGLETS, FALLS AND
SIMILAR HAIRPIECES.

(C)    NO SCHOOL OF PRACTICAL ELECTROLOGY SHALL BE
GRANTED A CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION UNLESS IT SHALL
ATTACH TO ITS STAFF, AS A CONSULTANT, A PERSON LICENSED
BY THIS STATE TO PRACTICE MEDICINE, AND EMPLOY AND
MAINTAIN LICENSED INSTRUCTORS OF ELECTROLOGY, REGISTERED
AS SUCH. RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE
ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF A SCHOOL OF PRACTICAL
ELECTROLOGY SHALL BE PROMULGATED BY THE BOARD OF
COSMETOLOGISTS.

(D)    COURSES IN THE PRACTICE OF MASSAGING THE FACE
OR APPLYING COSMETIC PREPARATIONS, ANTISEPTICS, TONICS,
LOTIONS, OR CREAMS TO THE FACE AND IN THE PRACTICE OF
STYLING, CUTTING, FITTING, COMBING, SETTING, AND ANY
OTHER TREATMENT OF WIGS, WIGLETS, FALLS AND SIMILAR
HAIRPIECES MAY BE ESTABLISHED AND TAUGHT BY A SCHOOL OF
BEAUTY CULTURE DULY LICENSED UNDER SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS
SECTION OR BY SPECIALIZED SCHOOLS OF BEAUTY CULTURE
ESTABLISHED FOR THE PURPOSE OF TEACHING ONE OR BOTH OF
THE AFOREMENTIONED COURSES WHICH ARE APPROVED BY THE
BOARD OF COSMETOLOGISTS. RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING
THE ESTABLISHMENT AND TEACHING OF THESE SPECIALIZED
COURSES SHALL BE PROMULGATED BY THE BOARD OF
COSMETOLOGISTS.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That any
resident of Maryland, who for more than one year prior to
July 1, 1974, has actively engaged in the occupation of a
wig stylist may, within six months file an application
requesting licensure with the State Board of
Cosmetologists setting forth his or her name, place of
business, post office address and the length of time he
or she has been engaged in such occupation. After
approval by the Board, the applicant shall pay a
licensure fee of five dollars and such license shall be
issued without examination.
