the applicant to supply information required by this
article, for the registration of voters to ascertain the
qualifications of the voter applying for registration by
mail, and to prevent fraudulent registrations. The
information required on these forms shall be supplied by
the applicant under penalties of perjury. Registration
by mail under this subsection may be made from and after
January 1, 1974.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect [[January 1, 1975]] [[July 1, 1974]]
January 1, 1975.

AN ACT concerning

Elections — Contested Elections

FOR the purpose of providing that copies of any papers of
public nature remaining in the possession of a
public officer, and voter authority cards or
extracts from the pollbooks in the possession of
certain public officers, shall be admitted into
evidence in trials concerning contested elections.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 19-6 of Article 33 - Election
Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement
Volume and 1973 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
