MARVIN MANDEL, Governor                             1789

— Alcoholic Beverages, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume and 1973 Supplement) be and they
are hereby repealed and re—enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

Article 2B — Alcoholic Beverages
155.

(s) In St. Mary's County, the chairman of said
board shall receive as compensation the sum of [twelve
hundred dollars ($1,200.00) ] $2,000 per year. Each of
the other members of the board shall receive as
compensation the sum of [one thousand dollars
($1,000.00)] $1,800. The attorney for the board shall
receive an annual salary of [twelve hundred dollars
($1,200.00) ] $3,000. THE COUNTY. COMMISSIONERS SHALL ALSO
PROVIDE FOR THE NECESSARY EXPENSES OF THE BOARD, AS
DETERMINED BY THE BOARD.

(j—1) In St. Mary's County the board shall appoint a
clerk to the board at a salary of not to exceed [$1,800]
$2,400 per annum, who shall have such duties as the board
shall assign to him. The Board of County Commissioners
of the county shall assign such other clerical assistants
to the board as it may need to carry out its duties.
The duties of inspection under the alcoholic beverage
laws in the county shall be performed by the office of
county inspector under the direction of the alcoholic
beverage board of the county.

[[SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of this Act shall not be construed to extend
or apply to the salary of the Board of License
Commissioners of St. Mary's County in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this
Act concerning the salary of the Board of License
Commissioners of St. Mary's County shall take effect at
the beginning of the next following term of office.]]

SECTION [[3]] 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That
this Act shall take effect July 1, 1974.
