(b) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection
(a) of this section, in any fiscal year the Department
may expend from the Waterways Improvement Fund without
legislative approval a total sum of not more than
[$150,000] $225,000. Of this amount, A SUM OF NOT MORE
THAN $125,000 may be expended for small projects under §
8—707 (3) and (4), subject to the limitation that no one
single project of this kind may exceed $5,000 in cost to
the waterways Improvement Fund, and A SUM OF NOT MORE
THAN [$25,000] $100,000 [shall] MAY be expended for
boating safety and education.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.

AN ACT concerning
The Water Quality Loan Act of 1968
FOR the purpose of amending the provisions of the Water
Quality Loan Act of 1968 to permit the use of
certain proceeds from the sale of certificates of
indebtedness thereunder for the development of water
supply plans pursuant to the provisions of Title 3,
Subtitle 1, of the Natural Resources Article of the
Annotated Code of Maryland; and to correct certain
statutory references in the Act.
BY repealing and re-enacting with amendments.
